Workshop Overview

Let's design literacy instruction so it actually can.
In this full-day, hands-on workshop, we'll explore how to support students who may struggle to access literacy instruction: students with IEPs, 504s, and other neurodivergent students with executive functioning challenges or attention differences.
We'll work to understand students' attentional, academic, and social-emotional needs. Then we'll create focused supports you can embed into whatever reading and writing program you're already using—no matter the curriculum.
Come ready to make and take what you need. We'll use digital tools including Google Slides templates and interactive graphic organizers, and we'll create physical supports with card stock, a laminator, and velcro on hand.

Engagement — including interactive reflection activities

About Aaron
I’m an inclusive education coach and advocate. I’m here to help you:

create practical strategies you can use right away—with individual students and your whole class
include all your students meaningfully in your classroom
I’ve been facilitating engaging professional learning for teachers for over 15 years. I was Executive Director of the Nest program at NYU, a fully inclusive public school program for autistic students from kindergarten through 12th grade, now serving 2,000 students across New York City. For several years, I worked with educators and district leaders in Denmark to adapt the Nest model for the Danish education system. I’ve taught in the New York City Public Schools, at Hunter College and New York University, and I’ve provided hundreds of workshops and on-site support at dozens of schools to help educators working with students with a wide variety of needs.
